Jimmy Set For Saddlers Return
Posted on: Fri 13 Feb 2009
Jimmy Walker returns to Walsall on Saturday afternoon and he is set for a hero's welcome from the Saddlers fans.
It will be the first time that Jimmy has returned to play at the Banks Stadium since leaving for West Ham back in 2004.
In his eleven years at the club, the shot stopper made an astonishing 475 appearances between the sticks for the Saddlers and helped them to promotion on more than one occasion.
He has also quickly made an impression in north Essex, too.
"Jimmy has been terrific for us," manager Paul Lambert said ahead of the game against Walsall.
"He is a big favourite in the dressing room and with the fans and he is a good character.
"He has saved us so many points for us since he has been here and has been an important player during his time here."
Jimmy is rated at 15/8 to keep a clean sheet on Saturday, following the U's having only conceded two goals in their last four matches.
They will be looking to bounce back from that defeat against Tranmere on Tuesday night and the U's are 10/1 to repeat their 2-0 triumph in their last away game against Carlisle United.
David Perkins grabbed the second goal that day and he is quoted at 12/1 to score first or last this weekend.
