O'Toole Departs For Rovers

24 July 2013

Midfielder joins up with Bristol Rovers

John-Joe O'Toole has left the U's for Bristol Rovers.

O'Toole signed for the U's in January 2010 and made a total of 76 appearances in his time in north Essex.

The midfielder spent time at Rovers on loan last season and has now completed a permanent move to John Ward's side.
"On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish him well and thank him for his time at the club."

"His opportunities here would have been limited with the competition for places in the centre of midfield.

"In the current market, he was in a positive position of having a choice and I feel he's made the right one for himself.

Dunne told the official website: "I think John-Joe has made the right choice of club for this move."

He has signed a three year deal at the Memorial Ground with former U's boss John Ward and current U's manager Joe Dunne feels the twenty four year old has made a good career decision.
